What's Included with Hemp Abode Building Packages

1. Design and Planning:

  • The process begins with selecting the desired model and making color finish selections.
  • Choose the desired package; "The Basic" or "Full Service Package"
  • Depending on the package selected; a final purchase price/budget is determined.
  • Depending on your jurisdiction; permitting may be required prior to beginning onsite assembly.

2. Ordering the Kit:

  • Once the design and planning steps are completed, an order is made.
  • The Hemp Abode requires a 50% advance payment and a full balance payment due prior to shipping the kit to the site.
  • Each kit comes with a 2-3 month fabrication lead time. We will provide status updates as fabrication of your kit home progresses.

3. Site Preparation:

  • While the kit is being fabricated, you or a privately hired team will prepare the site and finalize the permitting process.
  • Foundation Work: Before the kit arrives, the building site must be prepared. This includes clearing the land, leveling the site, and laying the foundation. Foundations may be slab, crawlspace, or basement, depending on the home design and local building codes. Our kit homes include detailed drawings for use in the foundation process.
  • Utility Connections: Utilities like water, electricity, and sewage need to be planned and connected either before or during the build.

4. Kit Delivery:

  • The kit is delivered to the building site in one or more shipments. The materials are pre-cut, numbered, and packaged in sections to make for an easeful, seamless assembly. All kits come with a full set of plans and simple assembly instructions.

5. Assembly:

  • The kit is assembled as a DIY build by the owner, a privately hired contractor, or by The Hemp Abode's white glove assembly team.
  • Assembly starts with erecting the pre-cut posts and beams; the bones of the structure.
  • Once the post and beams are erected; the roofing panels and exterior prefabricated wall panels including pre-hung door and window panels are set in place. Panels are fabricated in sizes and weight that accommodate a two person assembly team. No heavy equipment or winches are required to assemble our kit homes.
  • Each wall section comes with two panels, an interior panel and an exterior panel. The exterior panels are set in place first. Once the exterior panels are set in place and the home is shelled in; electrical and plumbing is completed prior to setting the interior wall panels in place. All interior partition wall panels can be installed at this time.
  • Upon setting the interior wall panels in place, the kit home is complete and ready for its new owners to settle in.

6. Key Advantages

  • A truly unique, revolutionary, healthy, sustainable, comfortable, and aesthetically pleasing home delivered to your door.
  • Cost Savings: The Hemp Abode kit homes cost less than traditional builds due to the streamlined manufacturing process and reduced labor costs.
  • Time Efficiency: Pre-cut and pre-designed materials allow for quicker assembly compared to traditional on-site construction.
